Love

Are we always learning to love? I would say yes. There are always times when I need to forgive more, listen  more, and open my heart more.

The capacity of love is great, and I humbly understand that I’ll never reach it. Love can always expand, always deepen, and always grow. It that way, love is the true miracle of life.

Can I receive the tiny moments of love, fleeting rapidly like drops of water off a glass window? The moments when my husband reaches out to hold my hand across the dinner table, or my sister says she loves me at the end of a conversation, or a child spontaneously hugs me in the playground at school.

Can I receive the large moments of love, when my father tells me he is sorry for not listening more to his children, or my husband asks me to stay home with him because he’s sad about his grandmother dying, or when I give myself patience and acceptance in the morning after a difficult night’s sleep.

Love is truly a mystery. It’s one of the great experiences of being alive. How are you letting yourself fully experience this dimension of life?

When we feel love and kindness toward others, it not only makes others feel loved and cared for, but it helps us also to develop inner happiness and peace.
